We started making Maine Mud® back in 1996 to help pay for a new barn roof. We make our Muds from scratch in a country kitchen in small batches using the finest ingredients. Our sauces do not contain preservatives or emulsifiers. These are deep, dark chocolate sauces - not for the faint of heart!

Our Muds are great on ice cream, cake, cream puffs, fresh fruit or right off the spoon. Once tried, folks want no substitute. And that new barn roof? We were able to finish it off and save the barn. It’s a 200-year-old pegged barn and there aren’t too many of them that are still standing. So, while we felt wonderful to be able to sell our Muds, we felt even better to be able to save and preserve our barn!
